The humid January afternoons in Johor Bahru didn’t stand a chance against the energy at Showroom. Every Saturday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, the shop transformed from a retail hub into a high-octane training ground. The January 2026 Skate Clinic wasn't just about landing tricks; it was about building the next generation of the JB skate scene.
The Mentors: Eddy, Dee Hamdee, & Eijan
Behind every wobbly kickturn and successful ollie was the watchful eye of our coaching trio. Eddy, Dee Hamdee, and Eijan brought a mix of technical precision and "try it again" motivation. Whether it was helping the 5-year-olds find their balance or pushing the 17-year-olds to refine their style, the coaches ensured the vibes stayed high and the slams stayed low.
The Crew: From Groms to Vets
The beauty of this clinic was the diversity on the deck. We had 19 skaters ranging from the tiny but mighty Triston (5) to the seasoned Jun (17). Seeing the older teens like Kaizer and Daniel Ong share the space with the younger "groms" created an atmosphere of pure community.

Saturday Vibes at Showroom
The 2:00 PM slot is usually when the JB sun is at its peak, but the Showroom crew kept it cool. The sessions focused on:
- Foundation: Getting the basics right for the younger crew (Ella, Ali, and Harvis).
- Progression: Pushing the mid-range skaters like Quinton and Waku to hit new obstacles.
- Style & Flow: Helping the seniors like Jun and Am connect lines across the floor.
"Skating isn't just a sport in JB; it's a brotherhood. Seeing these kids show up every Saturday in January proves the scene is in good hands."
